Makes more sense just to buy the new ones. They will be pit free with new internals.

    darrenkp Love that Torque!

Jim Weise has done these in the past, don't know if he still does.

Jim , I believe Steve Gregori rebuilds them so like new. I don't like the repros as I can pick them right out. The cut is too sharp in the triangles. I guess it just depends how picky you are. I am way too picky. too late to change at this point in life. originals may be date coded as well but not sure.

Well you have to go through cores for these sometimes to find ones not pitted so that you do not get back a cad plated pitted booster. JW did that for us once before we could get these repros. You will spend as much on struggling with these old cores as the $150.00 it takes to buy brand new ones. You could have the same reservations about your battery, how it looks and whether it is date coded. I think spending the money on the correct look and date code for your battery for example would be better.

The new ones are 100% Chineseum......give me a Steve Gregori rebuild and replate any day.

BTW - the repro units are different than the originals.

The units I believe are built in western NC around Asheville. At least the ones I buy are. For this reason I assume you are talking about some others that you have seen.
