where is this vacuum advance stop bushing suppossed to be mounted? I don't think that my distributor has one and what are the possible effects of not having it? o No:
If you are talking about the advance stop bushing, it mounts on a pin that rides in a small curved channel under the advance weights. They are usually included in an advance spring kit(brass). It's tight, but I've managed to install them with the distributor in the car. A little dab of epoxy will hold it on for good. That bushing has nothing to do with vacuum advance, it limits the mechanical advance only.
