how sad... i'm not sure what i'm going to do for my race car... maybe a GS or skylark... might go with a regal.. but i wouldn't ruin a GN ... if i had a GN it would keep the V6 ... if the engine was blown.. i could see replacing it with a v8.. but only then
There was a guy I was talking to @ the Nat in the pits this year..had a full "race" turbo car.."Tweaked-style" Keep in mind that Conley pulled Tweaked out of a junk yard and it started life as a plain 'ol Regal. Anyway in talking with this guy he tells me he BOUGHT THIS GN NEW.. and eventually made it a "race-car". I'm talking lexan glass, no interior, the hole 9 yards :jd: I couldn't believe he did that to a car he bought new. ou:
I'm glad you liked my post enough to quote it twice hehehe:laugh: the turbo guys are nothing like v8buick members, they remind me a lot of chevy guys.. not much respect for other people, and they seem to be die hard v6 guys... if it aint a 6, they dont like it pretty much, maybe its because they're generally younger than the people on this site? ofcourse, i'm young for both boards.. but hey, ill be 16 this month!
I recently re-read the Car Craft article on the guy who put a 13:1 sbc in a GN, so he could blister the 1/4 mile in 14.1 seconds. Wow, hold me back.

Wanted to go "fast" so he puts a 327 in it o No: Then gets discuraged when the local Mustangs was "kickin that butt on good time" with his big-bad 327 :laugh: . I heard he finally sold the car. Board member "Ski" has a turbo'd SBC in his GN. I know its darn quick. Kinda hard to argue with that.
Yea Carl, I remember. What ever happened to that car? Anybody know? It was very well done, but to turn a GNX into what he did, I could never understand. Lawrence (no relation, BTW) did the right thing with "Tweaked"...bought a used Regal and did it up without worry about the value.
