I'm putting a 430 in my 78 regal. I using stock motor mounts and have v6 frame pads. Are 455 bigger than the 430 motor mounts? From my comparison they are. I ask because I accidentally put one motor mount from each on. The 430 mount slides right in place but the other side sits way off, like its angle its different.

I'm hoping after I switch the other mount to the 430, it will all work out. Just wanted to get some opinions from anybody that has used or tried to use the v6 buick frame pads.

The V6 frame pads are different from left to right.

so should i swap them around or how can i tell the difference? the passenger side is ok. it sits where it needs to be. driver side is the on that is off. not sure if its from the 455 motor mount yet or the frame mounts since you said they are different

I think I'm reading you correct. You're trying to use V-6 frame brackets and 455/430 motor mounts? You need 455 frame brackets from TA. The V-6 frame brackets don't work at all. 455's and 430's would use the same motor mounts. The v-6/350 uses a completely different setup. I'd get the kit from TA because the original motor mounts usually are dried out and cracked. Mostly on the driver side right where the rubber meets the metal it is cracked. There are variations in factory BBB motor mounts but usually it is minor. You're going to need to drill some holes to mount the 455 frame brackets.
