I have several Carborated turbo set-ups if that helps and a Offy 4 barrel manifold.

Phil- I’ll put the Offu on the backup list. Um, when you say carbureted turbo setups, do you just mean the intake manifold or the whole exhaust, turbo, intake setup? Probably not what I want to do but I need to at least scratch this itch.

    Thanks,
    Chuck

The Offy is a square bore manifold, probably good for a Holey or AFB and it's for a 225, not 100% positive about the port line up.. They made a factory 4 barrel manifold they used on the Cutlass 4.1 motor, I have one of those. I have 2 complete carb turbo motors and could probably put together 1 or 2 complete set-ups. I also have a partial 84/85 set up.

Phil, the 225 I am replacing has the same Offy manifolds. I am looking to take advantage of the significanltly improved flow of the EF 231 4885 heads on the replacement engine, so this Offy manifold is not of interest. Might also be water port incompatibility, just enough to cause trouble from some things I’ve read.

I just found out I owe the Fed $3000, so I will not even think about a turbo setup now. I’ll make a note about you and your comments for future reference.

I am also looking into stock cast aluminum valve covers for the four bolt pattern, heard they are much better at preventing oil leaks. I’d consider those if you have some.

    Thanks,
    Chuck

I have a high rise intake made for the 3.8 engine that says NASCAR on it. I can send pictures tomorrow. It's in the attic right now.

Here are some pictures of it. Let me know if you need more. How about $200 + shipping.

    Chuck,
I saw the new price at Summit was $300, and they throw in free shipping. I could probably do that too, unless shipping is ridiculous. I even found a box that fits it perfect in my garage.

Hey John. Just trying to catch up on the honeydo list and emails tonight. I need to look at the pictures in more detail but zooming in they looked good. Thanks for sending those.

This manifold is on the short list. I have two lines on the KenneBell manifold I prefer, which I didn’t expect to find so didn’t try early on. I will come back to you when I get this straightened out and let you know if interested.

    Thanks,
    Chuck

Sounds great Sir, let me know if you need more pictures or description. It was barely used on my son's car. Worked GREAT!!! Then a crappy azz illegal totaled my son's car and ran down the street. Sometimes.................... Never mind. :)>

Do you remember what cam was in your son’s car? Was he running out towards 6000 rpm, and was it pulling hard the whole range? I’m new to Buick’s, so I don’t have much of a reference. Small block Chev and Ford were the experience when I was into this 25 years ago.

    Thanks,
    Chuck

I do not remember what cam was in it. I bought him the intake and some headers for Christmas. I do know it woke that car up!
What RPM did it pull to? I don't remember, but I will see him tomorrow.

Ah, yes. Then put that engine in a 2300 lb, low slung, short wheelbase car like I’ve got (914). Can’t wait.

    Hey Chuck,
I saw my son at lunch time. When he got the car it was a stock 1983 Regal with the 2 barrel computer controlled carb. It ran a pathetic 21.7 seconds in the 1/4 mile and wouldn't do a burnout. For Christmas we got him the intake and some headers. He said he got cam and lifters off of a buddy in high school. No idea on the name brand or duration. Put those parts on without doing any other work to the engine. It improved to a 17.4 ET. I know, still slow, but it had the 2:56 gears in the back. Anyhow, he said it would pull past 5500,but he only did it a couple of times because the engine had lots of miles on it. That's what I know.

John-I will never know what the Porsche quarter mile time is because I don’t want to run that way. First gear will simply fall off, and I’ll be abusing an old German ($) transaxle. No point in drag racing if you are NOT dumping the clutch and banging gears, in my opinion. I think it’s going to be a blast in Solo 2 and Autocross.
