Back on Dec 23rd 2003 I Airmailed a 1970 Skylark hood trim to a Board member in England, They told me 7 to 10 Days for delivery.
He JUST received it today,36 days later. Airmail???
Needless to say when it hadn't arrived within 2 weeks I was a little worried.
I mean he had sent me an International money order before I even shipped it. This caused a lot of Grief and Frustration,He was out his money and I was out the part.
I will never use the USPS for any international shipping again.
    It was way too stressful.
PS This was the first time I ever sent anyone on this board a part.
It was a Big relief to get his E-Mail today, saying he recieved it.
    Thanks again Ian:Do No:

Just out of curiosity, how did you wrap (or box, crate) that? I didn't think the USPS shipped large items.:Do No:

    Joe,
Overall dimensions of cardboard box were 44"x8"x2". This was for the hood trim on the front of the hood,a very slim piece but because of the formed "V" it had to be boxed 8"wide. The part was securley wrapped in bubble-wrap and all loose areas were stuffed with extra wrapping paper for a secure fit.
The weight was 2lb.11oz. Air-Mail Parcel. I have no idea why it took so long?

as an avid ebayer and shipper & buyer of parts from around the world I have had good luck with USPS, now I won't even go into the horror stories of UPS!

Listen, for all I know it could have been a Fluke. It was still a very frustrating situation,I mean 7 to 10 days I was quated as the delivery date, and it took 44 days?
I just thought I would tell my side of the story.

I sent hundreds of items overseas, be it for Ebay or for relatives that I and my wife have overthere via USPS. NEVER any trouble. I can send faster to England or Ireland faster than I can send a package to Ohio via UPS. UPS is another story.

Perhaps and most likely it was held up in customs.

    Keith,
Where do you live in Butler? I work for the Buffalo and Pittsburgh Railroad up there. I don't think I've ever seen any of your cars around, and I've got a keen eye when it comes to Buicks.

The USPS has been really bad lately. It took them almost two weeks to ship a small box from soutwest PA to upstate NY, just under an 8 hour trip.

I just USPS'd a fuel pump to the Netherlands with no problems.

Probably right about being held up in customs.
