True, Not that common. Here is another wild idea. LS oil pump bolts to block inside timing cover. I wonder dimensions of LS crank snout vs Buick 350.

There isn't a lot of room between the timing chain and the cover. Just about enough for that seal slinger and the LS oil pump is a lot thicker than that. And you'd have to have a custom pickup. Might be possible but probably not anywhere near as easy as using the V6 cover. I do not know if there is a V6 cover with a distributor drive, it sounds like there isn't. The Rover intermediate cover is probably not going to be the easiest thing to find but is probably the best solution. Cutting and welding two covers together will work but is a lot of work and may not be possible if you don't already have a TIG welder. Use of a crank trigger ignition is a viable solution, as well as an upgrade. EDIS/MegaJolt Lite is one option, there may be others that are as/more cost effective. The lower pulley can be drilled for use as a toothed wheel with a VR sensor. Perhaps the V6 ignition could be used with a V8 controller, IDK.

Properly built, an engine with the stock pump can have exceptionally good oil pressure.

Here is a good video of the V6 cover:

Max Damage I'm working on it!

It would be interesting to hear if that actually worked...
