US13 racing 1/4 today! One of only two 1/4 mile races this year.....for TOP (box), and MOD (no box) classes.

Come on out! Nice to see another BUICK once in a while!

Ideal conditions 30.40 barometer, 60 degrees. ZERO chance of rain.

    Well Bruce,

How'd it go at the track today?
You certainly had a beautiful day to be burning race gas and rubber!!
    Wish I could've been there...

Crazy day Phil....carb was flooding bad. Cleaned needle and seats. Went to run and started flooding after burnout, Turned pump off. Tried to clear it out. Turned pump back on. Staged started flooding as tree came down turned pump off and launched. Seemed OK until high gear then flooding again turned pump off then it went lean and turned pump on thru traps. HaHa.....still a 9.88 at 137.
Go to pits and clean needles again. Still flooding. Go buy a new pressure gauge. No difference. Check pressure reg diaphragm. OK Got one bowl still flooding. Holds for 10sec then rises right up. Checked brass float not heavy. I guess the Viton tips are just shot. 12yrs old. Guy pitted next to me says he replaces them every 2 years!

Got my money back for being broken.....pays for the new needle and seats......

Got home had to change oil ....so much gas in it.....it was fresh oil....only the one pass on it. Oh well clean crankcase now!

What carb. are you running??? I've had problems with Holley's & their equivalents with the rubber o-ring around the needle/seat assembly that screws into the bowl causing flooding & you can't find a reasonable cause. One little tiny o-ring can drive you NUTS!!!!

Tom, that could be it. It looked OK but maybe not. It did look shrunkrn back, probably not sealing well. Didn't think it would make it flood just leak out the top but maybe so....

I had purchased a whole bunch of spare (mainly new) Dominator parts to have for occasions like this but someone in at GS Nats thought they needed them more than I did.....didn't feel like re-buying all the stuff....
