I have been watching that 70 GS 350 4 speed in FL, and was going to bid on it when it dissapeared from the site. It said "no longer available for sale." So I emailed the guy, and he said he got so frustrated cause people were getting downright rude and mad at him cause he woudln't part the car out. I felt bad for him, but at the same time respected his not wanting to cut it up. Not saying its anyone from the board, but its ashame when one person spoils it for the whole group. -Jon
That is a shame... I'm hesitant to EBay the pile of spare parts I need to get rid of (sorry.. it's Mopar, Chevy, and ham radio related LOL) because of how rude some people were the last time I did it. But on the flip side... does this mean you can make him an offer privately now?
I stopped posting project/parts cars for sale for the same reason. Everybody wants the parts, nobody wants to spend the $$ for the whole car then deal with the logistics of getting the car to their house.(it is hard and expensive) One auction I received 32 emails wanting the parts but not the whole car.(A GTO) I understand why they want to have the deal go their way, but if I post it whole there is a reason! I want it all gone at one time or I want someone to save it and fix it.
I am trying to give him a private offer, but as of now, no luck. Teh car is kinda rotted, so I may not even save it, but it had all the GS parts on it, even a posi 3.42 and GS hood etc..... Non-AC 4 speed GS. Quite a cool package! I told the guy I wanted the whoel car, and I have a truck to get it, and its in the same state as he is. I think hes frustrated with all the jerk offs who dont get the parts they want, and think its "un cool" of him to deny that. The thing is, I have a 71 GS, so I dont need the bumpers, grill, hood scoops etc. I was gonna part all that stuff anyhow. Grrrr..... ticks me off! :af: Anyhow, like Bratles and James.... He listed the auction at $800 to start with a Buy Now of $2500. He had no title to it, but offered a bill of sale. In FL the state does not require a title, only a bill of sale to reproduce the title. Its crazy, but true! I am still trying to work with the guy, but have yet to get a response from him on the car. I know you guys would like the parts, and I could use some stuff too. Really ticks me off that people have to act like that! The car had trunk rust, floor rust, fenders rusted, quarters etc..... It looked a bit rough, but salvageable. However, it is a 4speed GS, so if it was salvageable, I would probably spruce it up and sell it as a project. -Jon
Don't mean to butt in here, but, what part of Tampa do you live in? I live down in Riverview. Do you go to any of the cruises around Tampa? Do you ever go to Bradenton or Sunshine drag strip? Do you or anybody know someone with a yellow '70 GSX down here in Riverview? I've seen it drive by twice, but couldn't get a good look at it. Who owns it? See ya around.
Hey Jeff, I will actually be moving to Riverview/Brandon in a couple months. I have seen that GSX in Dade city at the car show, and from what I am told its a clone. Still cool though. We should get together some time. All these guys are Northern boys, so not much of a circle here ya know? I live in Oldsmar, just south of Odessa and just West of Tampa. Keep an eye out for some land/house for me in riverview! I dont like neighbors.... :grin: I dont race much anymore, but I used to.
