Took the Chevy rear end out of my 70 Skylark and put in a 72 posi rear end. Control arms are too short because I put some bigger springs in? Is that. Why?. I ordered adjustable arms. I'm hopping this will get the rear end and drive shaft better lined up. Comments welcome, thanks.

I'm no expert but it seems reasonable to consider that you should remove the springs and then mount the control arms then put the springs back in. Unless you want to leave the springs in and coax the axle up into position with a jack. Not rocket science, just a another way to skin the cat.

The upper control arms are not too short. The problem is it can be a bear to line up all the bolt holes for the upper and lower arms. I would connect the upper arms first, then the lower arms. It helps to position the jack under THE NOSE of the pumpkin. If you slowly raise and lower the jack, you will find that you can get the holes to line up. Upper adjustable arms are a great idea. Check and adjust your pinion angle.
