changing the upper control arm bushings on my 71 GS, and having an issue I need advice on....

The car is a BBB with headers, and the headers practically touch the rear stud where control arm shaft and alignment shims slide over, there is no way to slide the arm and shaft off the studs unless you either jack the engine up (WAY up) ur knock the studs out of the frame..

I assume those studs are splined into the frame tab - has anybody ever had any luck knocking them out? What would be the best way with no access to the other end? Slide hammer through the inner fender flap?

    Thanks,
