i have never done the upholstgery myself so i am wondering how difficult is it If i buy
    the Skins?
Its a front bench w/o Armrest and rear seats
its out of a 72 Skylark but i assume it will fit my 68 GS btw i have a hard time finding the right skins/pattern for my 68 GS .

Take your time. Buy MANY hog rings. Keep the covers in the sun on a hot day and/or use a heat gun. Get another person to help you. It’s not terrible if you take your time

I've done a bunch of covers. It's pretty easy. I did stumble on a tip- put a plastic bag over the foam and the seat cover will slide on much easier. When I took the cover off the right seat back on my Skylark I found the foam had a bag on it. That cover slipped right off and the new one slid on real easy.. i figure the cover must have been removed and reinstalled at some point. Definitely made the job easier. Of course I already did the left side.

Max Damage I'm working on it!

I think there are two main patterns used in the 1968 GS with the bench. The "Custom" and the not custom (LOL). Legendary makes both of these. The GS California cars use the interior from the Special Deluxe, which is a whole different animal and not something that is reproduced in the mainstream.

Any Pictures of your 1968 Bench?

I just picked up a '68 GS I'll likely be parting (black interior). I haven't really looked at the seats but probably will get a chance tomorrow.

One Tip that I can offer is to use Plastic Zip Ties to hold the seat springs collapsed as you are pulling the new seat covers over the foam and springs.
It is always difficult to hold down on the springs and pull the new covers on. Collapse the springs first and secure with the plastic zip ties. Once the new covers are pulled into place, cut and remove the zip ties.
