While looking online, I went to EKLERS corvette and saw they had colored striped hoses in kits for headlights and A/C heater controls. I called and gave part #'s and asked what size the hoses are in the kit. I was told that nobody there could answer that question not even there TECH guy. Nobody there has any automotive knowledge or the ability to measure a hose. The kits are copy's of the original hoses. I was told their job was to answer the phone, and type in part #'s given by customers. Any questions related to the parts was out of the question. He really got messed up when i told him i wasn't useing the hoses on a corvette. Only after being asked several times i let that slip. His only resolution was to fill out a special request slip with all kinds of info and maybe in 3 days someone would get back to me with a hose size. He even had to know if my car was in a shop and on a rack ???Like that makes a difference. What happened to the real parts guys? These phone answers have no interest or knowledge of the parts business. Very sad. They only know what the computer tells them to do. Bottom line, They might have what i am looking for but they don't know what they selling and it would be a very expensive gamble to find out they are the wrong sizes.

customer service complaints aside, I'm surprised that the kits don't list what size the hoses are.
Just seems like common sense to put that sort of information on there.

guess their hoses are too good for Buicks

I thought I mentioned not to tell them it's for a Buick! This is how most ALL my calls or inqueries went in the past with various vendors. They know zip, and if you tell them it's for something other than what it's listed for they will say it doesn't fit. I've owned 4 GTO's, and knew a lot about them, I always bought from Ames. When I bought my 442 12 years ago, I knew many parts were the same. I would tell them it's for an Olds, always had problems. Then I just started saying it's a 69 GTO, no probs. Mostly all the colored vac line I've seen iis the size of your typical applications. Only a few things are larger size like ww hose or power trunk vac line. There really isn't a lot of difference between 5/32", 11/16", etc. If it's for hidden headlights, it should fit ported vac switches, dist advance, etc.

Every car had different lenghts on these hoses. Chances are some will be too long and some too short.

The length is not the issue, it is more the ID of the hoses.

Would not give me the time of day when I asked about the hoses. Only available as kit.

The assembly manual ID's these by color.

The ID of the hoses means INSIDE DIAMETER of the hoses not identification.

I might be wrong about this, but check with Frank Mcintyre (buicfrank on this board). He makes the reproduction overflow jugs for our cars, and if I'm not mistaken, also makes the washer hose with the yellow stripe on it. He's a good friend of mine, and makes some great parts for our old Buicks.
