Me, my girlfriend and visiting mom went for a weekender to Vegas and the canyon this weekend. We left my girlfriend's Intrepid on the street with a for sale sign on it. On Saturday we get a voice message on my girlfriend's cellphone syaing the Intrepid had been side swiped by a car and that it had just taken off. The person who left the message had followed the car and gotten the registration from it. So when we came back on Monday night, the damage was sure there. We went to the police station and reported it; the officer said they would send out a letter with a request for a court appearance on a misdemeanor charge as soon as they had Id'd the registration.

It just makes me think how honest people have to work for their stuff, and then some idiot wrecks your car and takes off. Leaving you there, with your time spent working for what ever you've bought in pieces, like some kind of sucker.

Hopefully we'll see some justice here, it sure would feel good since they took my radio two weeks ago. I'll make sure to have a VERY expensive repair shop quote available to present in the court if it would be needed.

Just got done with a body shop today.

2004 Toyota Corolla vs. 2002 Ford Explorer

Ford has more damage, our car inched up at 5mph or so and hit the hitch, supposedly the hitch was moved forward so they can't get the spare out. But that makes me think if you were towing something and braked the trailers weight would do the same? Ohwell, done and over.

Kimson, Hopefully the door can be buffed out. but the fender looks like a hard dent to knock out. It amazes me why people run away from their problems.

Hope everything works out your way. :)

Maybe i left the practice tree on or something. She lost her spot for good! 800.00 to fix mine & 850.00 to fix hers. :ball: this was worse than any Blonde moment i can think of. (sorry for the wise crack) i told our insurance co. were ready for the commercials. :spank: Randy

Was it your neighbor that chased the guy/girl down? That's pretty cool.

Sucks for the damage though. Good luck with that.

No neighbor, just someone that thought it sucked, since we were trying to sell it. I didn't think those people actually excisted; you don't even read about them...

the accident is a good reason NOT to park your car on the street if u have off-street parking . i do sympathize with u .
my biggest pet peeve IS people parking on residential streets overnight when they have a driveway &/or graage to park in . whatt i find is that these people are too damn lazy to maybe have to move a car to go to work . i do not park any of my 3 cars on the street overnight . and yes i have to move 2 vehicles to get my gs out of the garage , but i donot mind . when my son was at home & we had only 2 vehicles , i used to move a car every morning so that i could degarage my car to go to work . i would then back the other car back off the street into my driveway .
i used to live in london ontario and they have enforced a ban on overnight on-street parking since the early 60's . have lived in windsor for the past 30 years and NO nab on overnight street parking .

Probably from the 'For Sale' sign.

Phone No. from the sign yes.

We've got one garage spot, no driveway and three cars at the moment. My girlfriend just got herself a Lexus a few weeks ago, so having that one in the garage is as it is. I had put the Centurion in the garage when we were away, and the Intrepid had to stay on the street with the for sale sign on it.
