unlocked locked motor !

    Finally! Finished the teardown this evening and discovered the #3 rod bearing had spun and the #1 rod bearing had gotten vey hot and was ready to spin.the main bearings and journals all looked fine but the rod journals on both #1 and #3 are pretty deeply scored. The crank was turned .010 when rebuilt so I may be in the market for a new one. All in all though,I think it was the best thing I could have hoped for,considering the other very bad possibilities. Now I can begin the reconstruction process, and have everything completed by next spring. This process will be helped along by all you fine folks. wish I was aware of this site when I restored the car initially. I'll keep you posted.

    So how bad was the rest of the car? I saw that you needed a column and quarter but was there any other damage? Were the tires bald??

    Just glad you got her back. Any news on the bastard thieves?????
