It works great - on those areas that the factory only undercoating is present (in areas the first owner couldn't get to with the tar). I am running it 90 PSI. It should also be great for cleaning up some minor surface rust, I'll run it over the frame to clean it up a little before it goes to the sandblaster (as it may save me money as the sandblaster "dude" charges by the hour)...
My undercoating( original Colorado car) isn't the soft stuff most have described, looks like concrete to me.... This tool should do the trick ?? Northern Industrial Air Needle Scaler 8 CFM, 90 PSI | Air Needle Scalers | Northern Tool + Equipment DL
Similar to the tool I have. Just go easy with the tool....apply very light pressure on it....let the needles dance on the surface and it will remove the undercoating. You will get the feel for it after a few minutes. I would suggest a full face mask or googles. Also, wear ear plugs.
Thanks George, I'm thinking my Porter Cable air compressor might not be enough, it's really meant for framing. Guess i can look at some larger tanks while I'm over there... DL
I saved a little money and bought a needle scaler attachment for my pistol grip air hammer from HF. cost: $12.99 Tom:TU:
