There were no other changes that Dennis Manner could recall. "Bolt on" 15 hp. The port floor is too low and therefore less flow. So why 15 extra horses with a exhaust port that does not flow as well as stock......... completely unknown. Tom may have an idea about that. The heads would require a camshaft change to maximize flow potential. Dennis did not recall any work on camshafts for the "D" heads. Maybe the rapidly expanding exhaust gases perform differently than what a flow bench can replicate? There were also exhaust manifolds designed specifically for the "D" heads. Two different designs were used. The port has potential though due to the raised roof and deeper pocket. The floor would have to be raised. I agree with Tom. The intake needed modifications. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Marty
The last set I saw on e-bay Tom went for something like 3K+. I forgot that your "Nail" will be helped with "Pressure" so even unmodified these may work out better for you.
When I do get around to building my blower motor I think Im going to build it with a little Nitro:laugh: in mind so I dont think I would use them heads It would suck to drop a valve or blow the blower off my Weiand manifold If I do get them heads I think I would use them on the motor thats going to go in my new Model A coupe Will you port a set of heads for me Tom? do you do that Tom
Hey What ever happened to you looking at the heads??? Did you pick them up or at least take some pictures??? Thanks, 425 2X4 Nailhd
I have been so busy I have not had the time to go look at them I need to make some time to go and take a look hopefully soon
I just noticed in my attic I Have the exhaust mamifold in the very ist picture 3rd item 1368804 never new what it went to. in fact someone on this web site did a search for me. Anyway is it werth $$$ if so How much.
Good morning. Do you have the other exhaust manifold? I do not know the value of the manifold that you have. I bought mine years ago as a set...........probably paid $300 to $400. Someone would have to have the "D" heads to use. Most people run headers with "D" heads. I would be interested if you want to sell. Please send me a pm. Thanks, Marty
Only Have the one manifold. I'll have to think about what I want to do with it. Marty where are you Located?
Good afternoon. I live in southern California, city of Norwalk. Do you have any other nailhead parts? Marty
I Try to collect parts that I may need some day, with my 66 GS, I have extra blocks, carbs, bell housing, pans, mounts intake and exhaust manfolds etc. You never know what might happen. Every time I get read of something I need it a month later.
The exhaust manifold you have only fits the following vehicles: Electra Riviera Wildcat Also, the manifold is made for "D" cylinder heads only. It will not work on the heads you have for your 1966 GS. Marty
Well actually there are two Rivieras now...................and one is a 64 factory dual quad car. Marty
