This is the holy grail of grandsports! I heard rumors they were out there, but this is the 1st one that has surfaced to my knowledge. Much rare than the other 65 stage cars that are also seldom seen. Someone needs to authenticate this car---first look for the 2 barrel carb and single exhaust, and usually bench seat, column shift automatic. 4 door models are most common, but there may have been some coupes made. Real stage 5's are stamped with a code on the crankshaft---ask the seller to tear down the engine to prove it's for real.
I thought all 65 Skyhawks used the T type code on the GSX 455 13 bolt rear axle with the ultra rare 2bbl fuel injected by pass turbo waste gate. I am definitely surprised that the Sloan museum has not scooped this thing up.....lol....craigslist is entertaining.
Well this one is suspect already... buckets with a console shifter (which I was surprised to see, actually).
Flat bottom leather racing steering wheel option too :moonu: I've heard there may be a secret convertible concept version hidden away by the Peterson Museum. :Smarty:
