Ugliest car ever?

I had long felt that the Pontiac Aztec was about as ugly a car as it is possible for a major manufacturer to produce - until this morning. I was just getting into our car in a Lowe's parking lot when I noticed the ugliest front end that I have ever seen on a car. When I got out to have a look, I found that the sides and rear were about as bad; the thing was a Nissan Murano. Beside being ugly, the thought struck me that naming a car for a Venetian island known for the production of ornamental glass, is odd in itself. Any other candidates for the ugliest car ever?

I have been to Murano island. Huffing those glass pipes is not good for longevity.

I vote for Aztec but a Gremlin was the odd duck of the first muscle car era.

have you seen the convertible version of the Murano? Its horrible. Talk about a car that doesn't lend itself to being a convertible. The Juke is definitely up there

I had always had the amc matador as ugliest. Then I saw that Bond movie from 1974 and it was ugly on parade! Datsun B210 I think is quite bad.

Honestly when I read the title of the thread before I opened it I was thinking the Aztec. LOL

I don't think I have ever seen a Murano, but if before seeing it you thought the Aztec was the worst I'll have to take your word for it.

I know I'll catch a lot of flack for this but, the Dodge and Plymouth Super Birds. They have got to rank right up there. I know they're collector cars because they're rare. They're rare because nobody wanted One.

TexasT Texas, where are you from

I always thought the superbird/daytona was cool. I was pretty young when they came out but remember them as a kid. There was a petty blue superbird on the way to my grandmothers. What kid doesn't like a big wing and pointy nose?

As far as ugly goes, those "smart" cars are pretty scary looking to me. I dont care what they get in a rating for collision, they don't stand a chance when faced by a concrete truck.

I'd have to say the order for ugliest is Aztec, Nissan Juke, and Murano, in that order. The lights on the Juke at night look like an old VW bug coming at you. Also, those Cube cars (Nissan, Scion, Kia) are pretty ugly, too. And how many cars can you sell with rats as pitchmen?

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Make that 2 of us. Nissan Joke. Before Nissan came out with that, I thought that those responsible for the Aztec had been banished from the auto industry. All of the aforementioned show that that only taste some people have is by mouth.

Bit of trivia on the Aztek. It was the first vehicle GM put on sale without doing a clay model first. It was all designed on computer. The thought was to get rid of clay modeling as it is expensive. Yet another lesson GM learned the hard way.
