I am trying to help out a buddy who needs a vehicle transported about 700 miles. Looking for information about U-ship. Always need insured, bonded and licensed but I have heard both god and bad, very bad in some cases. Regards, Upstaged in SW Michigan.

I used them, had a guy pull my bass boat from New Hampshire to So. Cal.
In Las Vegas he ran the trailer into a pole at the gas pump. that's his story.

He didn't tell me until he showed up at 11pm thinking I wouldn't see it.
then his insurance company told I had to collect the 500 dollar deductible
from him myself. His son finally paid me after a very bad review and a loss of business.
A tip, don't use the cheapest guy.
I had a 67 GS400 hauled from Oklahoma with no problems at all.

I used them to ship a snowmobile from here in Montana to the port in New Jersey (buyer was from Norway). A sketchy, non-English speaking Russian showed up in a semi-truck full of all kinds of things like tractor tires, an assembled swing set, exercise equipment, pretty much just a hodgepodge of things. I made sure to write down his truck's DOT number and license plate, and took a copy of his driver's license (that was a difficult conversation and point to get across to him with the language barrier). All told, everything went fine, but wasn't the best experience....

I shipped a 69 Rivi in Jan f/ FL to OK. They had the best price. Driver was great on communications and helped push on the unload.

They are a "scheduler" between people looking for a hauler and haulers, so it boils down to luck of the draw on the drivers that respond. You can do research on the driver before accepting. As with any service, I'm sure there are good and bad stories. I would use them again.

    good luck

I had Montway ship the Buchev from MA to Florida. They apparently are a brokerage house and round up just about anyone who has a halfway decent car hauler to do the work. I had a hell of a time getting the truck picked up; when the driver showed up four hours late, I was really nervous. The fact that the guy was English-challenged made my concern even worse. I came very close to saying forgeddaboudit, but I took a chance. I gotta say that the truck got to Florida undamaged. The price was in line or slightly lower then some of the competition. If I had a 98-point show car I don't think that I would use them, but my experience was OK. They did get it here in one piece. That's what I paid for.
