Do you have to heat the nylon out before you can press the U joint out?

I've always applied only enough heat with a torch so the nylon oozes all out as to not bend the weld yoke when pressing it out possibly putting the DS out of balance.

Since the factory injected the nylon (I assume to prevent the U joint cap from slipping out during use), what or how do I inject nylon back?:Do No:

You dont have to Dan. The new U joint will have a clips to hold the caps in place

I read somewhere that the nylon will shear when the u-joint is being pressed out.

As a matter of fact I just replaced my u-joints this past weekend using a freebie u-joint press from my local auto parts. It went quite smoothly with no hitch, about 10-15 minutes on each u-joint, they just pressed out easy shearing off the nylon. The new u-joints have clips to keep the u-joints in place.

    Good Luck!
