I AM HOPING SOMEONE CAN TELL ME HOW MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF SKYLARKS THERE ARE FOR 1969? I SEE ON THE NET THAT THERE ARE DELUXE, SPECIAL AND GS'S. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES IN THEM. I HAVE A 69 CONVERTIBLE THAT HAD A 350. DOING AN ENGINE SWAP TO A 455 FROM A 72 SKYLARK. ANY INFO OR HISTORY WOULD GREATLY BE APPRECIATED!

Jerry, I actually purchased it from someone here in my area and I'm having a shop next to the Sonoma Speedway install it and do any necessary changes to it. I hope it turns out great!!!!!
erik, THANKS A LOT!!!!! that was very helpful. i finally know my car is a skylark custom. like jerry said though, its a rare one now that i have a 455 in it!
I think a lot of confusion revloves around the term 'special' and Buicks. For instance, when someone at a parts store can't find a part like a fan clutch for a GS455, I have them look under 'special' and bingo, there's the part listed in the computer.
