What type of gas SHOULD i be running in my 401? Regular unleaded or premium unleaded?

Now, I am about to setup an aftermarket fuel gauge just to get a reading. I followed the level sending wire from my tank, to the back seat and it was a tan wire running into a flat almost computer like cord. I followed it all the way up to my dash but once the cord connected to the cords in front there is no tan wire. I spend 4 hours with my dash-top off trying to find the wires. I didn't have any that were loose and hanging either. Where did these wires go?

(there is NOTHING connected to the gas gauge unit).

I believe Buick made a low compression 401 maybe one year around 62-63 . All the others were high compression as far as I know.

The first question is does Poland use the Motor, Research or another octane scale?

From what I understand, they use mostly the same scale but it comes out being 4-5 points higher than here in the US. Their 103 octane is equivilent to our 98.

I always use the highest octane I can find, which is usually 92. If I ever happen by a Sunoco I'll fill it up with CAM2 :Brow: .

Use the lowest octane that the engine won't ping on.

I use 93 because its the best I can get in New York

BUT, IIRC, these cars should run at least 95.
