This is a very nice crack free Type 2 shorty console. I believe this style is technically correct for late 1970 & 71, 72 vehicles. It will of course work in the early year vehicles just not be technically correct if technical precision is your goal. I've owned this one for many years and have never used it. I can't really tell if it's factory maroon/red or if it was black and painted/dyed before my ownership. It is very nice and the top is soft as in not brittle at all. There is one small area where the top surface has been rubbed or scraped by something as shown in the picture. The chrome is nice, there are a few/some small pimples in the chrome that you can see in the right light but they're not noticeable to the touch. There are a number of light surface scratches. There are no screws to hold this together, when I got it each piece was individually bubble wrapped. $400. delivered in the continental U.S.
