Tyler killed a tube chassis Chevy II

The Chevy II is faster, but at the race track, it's all about reaction and dial in. This guy in this full tube chassis big block Chevy II, has all the electronics and several times in the past two years, he has won his class and sometimes multiple classes. He is good.

Tyler draws him in third round of Pro class this weekend, and Tyler cuts a .005 light and runs .007 off his dial and puts the Chevy II on the trailer. A big nice, A/C trailer behind a Toter home. That guy wasn't too happy and later suggested to the track owner that he should tear down the track and build a golf course.

There were a lot of happy racers to see Tyler put that Chevy II on the trailer. Tyler was dead on for most of the night, and was in 4th rounds in pro and modified classed when the rain came.

Very cool. Good win. That's exactly the kind of guy that everyone is happy to see gone.

I think I know that guy. Acting like a crybaby....I'll bet what really got him was that he was beaten by a "kid" - even though you young-uns often have better reflexes and more focus.

Good for you! :beer :beers2: :beer

James, you probably do know him. He is from that area, and his mother gets really mad when he looses too.

I forgot to add, that Tyler runs in this class with the trailered race cars. Just to rub it in, Tyler ran this weekend through the mufflers and tailpipes. Our red car is about in the middle of the pack for quickness and times. It really makes them mad to loose to the Buick, street car.

That's not upset, that's immature, spoiled, and a sore loser. Good for him. Maybe you can do it again, he might buy a Buick:TU: On second thought, we don't want a guy like that.

I laughed at the comment about tearing down the track and making it a golf course. I could see this guy with the most expensive equipment throwing a tantrum because he keeps hooking his ball. Way to go, Tyler. Anyone who acts like a sore loser deserved what he/she got.

Not too often. I broke out in the 4th round on sunday tho by .007. I got two dead on dial stickers this weekend.

He dials what he think he will run. No games played. He runs 1/8th miles so not much time to sandbag anyway, which makes it exciting. I have always told him that if he cuts a good light and runs on his dial, it doesn't matter what anybody else does, Tyler will win.

Hey Mark I wasn't implying sandbaging at all just askin. If I try to run on my best # I usually break out.We race from 3 to 8pm my car picks up as it cools down so I have to dial 2to3 hundereds under. This Sat we race @ 9am so I'll have to figure it out.

My car runs faster once it cools down also, we had a guy pitted next to us with a weather station (one of those expensive ones that measures the altitude based on air quality). That really helped me get the dial in almost dead on.

I tried dialing in a little slower than what I thought, and giving it a little blip at the end if I am a little bit ahead, but that was tough. too much is going on. Maybe once I have been racing longer I can get a little better at it, and never have to worry about breakouts.

Tyler - one of the things you can do at the big end, rather than giving it a little "blip", is leave your right foot mashed on the gas and just slow the car slightly with your left foot on the brake. Just keep the front wheels of your car slightly ahead of your opponent's.

That way if you need to pick it up again all you have to do is lift off the brake; the driveline is already preloaded and it will shoot right off again.

I think you'll also find it's a little easier to control than blipping the throttle.

    FWIW -

Tyler, congratulations on the win. I knew all those days you were day-dreaming out your windshieldless car would pay off. Just think when you get your race car done what you will be capable of. :TU:
