Just attaching twin turbos to an "inspected" stock engine with unknown miles and high-compression pistons is a recipe for disaster. My opinion is that the tranny might be worth a grand. The turbos are worth whatever a pair of used turbos are worth - plus whatever value you place on the bracketing. The engine is a rebuildable core. At the very least, it needs forged lower-compression pistons and a balance job. I think on a good day this engine setup might be worth half of what he wants. Just my opinion.
I agree. There's no way I'd actually BUY that setup. It'd probably make a heap of power for about 30 seconds, if that. If I ever went this route, the whole engine would be purpose built.
