Anyone know what ever happend to Tommy Ivo? wheres he located, is he even alive, how can ya get ahold of him, who knows? Don

Last I knew he was still living in Burbank. I spoke with him a few years ago when he was looking for Hilborns and other parts to help replicate his four engine car. He initially had someone else contact me and get an idea what parts I had and get a 'feel' for me. Then somehow I ended up with Tommy's ph# and we spoke about the parts I had etc... My pop sees him at the CHRR (Calif. Hot Rod Reunion) most every year when he goes out there. Just to add to the other thread on the subject, his old T-roadster and Four engine car are now in the NHRA museum (not Garlits) the 4 engine car has a 'vista cruiser' body on it as it was last run by the guy Ivo sold it to. (I can't remember his name or what he called the car-Ivo called it the 'Showboat'). I am not sure if the twin engine car is at Garlits or not-I haven't been to Garlits yet. I asked why build a replica if the original car is still around, Tommy replied that the car has gone through some heavy changes since he owned it and it had its own 'life' as it is now. Well that is what I know about him, other than what is in the history books...
The four motor car was no longer at the museum in November when I was there. Can't remember where they said it went to, if they did, but it had been gone for a while. I really wanted to see it. It had been there a long time as I had a a magazine clip showing it there from quite a few years ago. There are models availeable for the tro dragsters and they include a DVD with an interview with Ivo. It is worth the price of the model (ain't cheap). You can get it a Supercar Collectables, (supercar1.com).
9-23-07 I just went to the Garlits Museum today ....The TWIN engine Ivo car is still at the Garlitts Museum..its actually been beautifully restored with lots of chrome and red paint.......I will post a pic later ...another unique Buick piece is a Smokey Yunick prepared 425 at 600 hp used in Nascar around 69-70 I believe it said sitting on the floor in the Garlitts Antique Car Museum. They also have Yuniks home made looking dyno on display as well as his octane tester ....evidently he blended his own fuels.
WOW!!! would I love to see what is inside that baby! :eek2: :eek2: I believe Lee from the Yahoo Nailhead group has been in touch with Tommy. Lee is the moderator. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NailHeadBuick/
