Ok let's see what they can do and lets see all the builds that you know of. I'm really interested in numbers. Mostly HP numbers because we know these motors make torque. Probably too much! I've seen a couple more pop up. Here's the newest one I've seen.

that first video is of a guy named nick and he is out of conn. he is building that twin turbo nailhead in his international pickup. think it is a 49. we spoke a bunch of times on the phone and worked out some of his timing concerns and tuning concerns. he ended up with a snow meth injection and i am pretty sure he is around 8-10psi of boost. he is a real nice guy with alot of drive and passion!!
my turbo nailhead will not be seeing a dyno for a little bit. the 53 international will in the next month but i want the car complete before i put it on the dyno.my interior and dash pad have been recovered and restored and know i am tring to finish my budget serpintine belt setup.. under a $100 bucks!!! some scrouging and using what i got in my parts boxes laying around the shop. i got a gn crank pulley for$35 and i got a new alt from a chrysler and new power steering pump from a jeep tj. the bracket for the power steering should be done by the end of the week and will post some more pictures. i did update my photobucket with the drilling of the crank pulley and some pictures of under the car on the lift at my house. all the rust has been cut out and the metal work is done just finishing the final body work and front and rear bumpers.

  4. I have some ideas on how to do a simple kit on a 65-66 GS using stock Riv manifolds swapped side to side. studying it a little closer now.

i have a couple different exhaust manifolds and it could be done with the turbo on the pass side but the drivers side brings up some problems. i think it is easier just to take a set of sbf 5.0 turbo heads and make #6 port and extend it to make it #8. three out of the four ports are almost dead on. very little fab work and i bet you could buy a premaid set $250 and spend a day on fab and poof done..

hell i will sell my headers, complete turbo setup minus turbo/wastegate/bov for the right price so i can fund to buy a nother set of headers to cut up..

would any be interested in nailhead turbo headers??

  6. I would do a single on the passenger side and cross the drivers side under the fan or radiator support. make a merge pipe just before the turbo flange. my car has a manual trans so there is no room for a down pipe on drivers side due to the funky clutch linkage setup.

starting fab tomorrow.. looking into 316 stainless or 321 stainless steeltubing. debating whether to go with 1 5/8 or a little bigger. i was looking @ the flange on that 58 turbo nailhead and was looking @ how they made bosses for the bolts to eliminate the issue of getting to the header bolts. . i also stumbled across these guys.
http://www.stainlessheaders.com/mergecollectors check these guys out and watch thier 6 part header building series on youtube or thier website. nice info. i am tring to get the cad done for the flanges done tomorrow.

I read somewhere that there's a cam you can get to reverse flow the heads on a Buick nailhead v8. Any info on this?

i am sure you can and i have heard of it but because i am boosting it i overcome that poor flow of the intake valve. mine is a non race application and to me 500hp and 650-700tq is very acceptable. i want it to be VERY streetable. now eveyones streetable is different but to me if you can drive it anywhere, anytime and can take it 3,000 mile to the power tour that it is streetable in my book.
