Looking for some advice on tuning my engine. It's old and seems to run fine but I'm curious about the story my spark plugs tell. My 70 skylark convertible I believe is running really rich.
I checked the plugs in my 72 350 and the plugs are almost white.

    Plug looks oil fouled.

Definitely a problem. Too dark. I don’t see the oil . I would atleast check timing and points. Add a few degrees of initial timing for todays fuel and timing chain wear.
If its consuming oil , check for that. Replace pcv. Check choke pull off. Maybe old gas?

Does it use oil or smoke on start up? The way to read plugs is to install new ones and make a few passes at WOT and read them immediately after. Idling and putting around town is not usually when you read plugs other than to make sure they aren't carboned up or completely fouled. The one in the second pic definitely looks like it isn't burning clean though.

It does smoke a bit. I don't really drive it enough to know if it uses oil.
