Wondering if any one has used these cheaper tubular front control arms that are on ebay??? Just seems like there is a huge price difference between what globalwest and some of the other big names? Is there really that much off a difference?

I was back and forth on them for quite a while. Do your research on pro-touring.com, and collect your responses here. Worries about cheap materials are one thing, and stories about how difficult it is to get and keep the car aligned got me thinking. In the end, I figured it was probably worth the extra bucks to buy direct from UMI Performance during their Christmas 15% off sale. Still more than double the ebay ones. I emailed a lot with Ramey at UMI and ultimately went with the 1/2" taller upper ball joint setup. They are still sitting in the box (like everything I have bought over the last four years!), but I feel like I made the right move.

Thanks for the info. I plan on doing a complete brake upgrade and suspension this year and want to keep it on the cheap.

Though probally not adjustable, I swear I saw someone post pictures of a set of stock front control arms they'd drilled holes in to make lighter, that would be a pretty cheap option assuming that its done in a way not to weaken the arms themselves. :Do No:

These look identical to the ones I bought for nearly $100 more than I paid 2 years ago. They are solid and seem to be decent. Been driving them for two years with no issues. I also put the ProForge tall upper ball joints in them to get better geometry. The ones I bought had extra positive caster built in. I also put on a GN steering box to get tighter handling. So far, so good and I'm not gentle going around corners as I used to wear out a set of front tires before the backs.

My only complaint would be to have put a 90 degree grease fitting in the bottom pivot points. A straight in fitting they come with is going to be a bear to hit.

Good to here. I'm stating to think for that kind of money why not try.
