The July 2006 issue of Muscle Car Enthusiast did some more dyno testing regarding what what changes to an engine make a difference in performance. You have to give them credit for being honest and not straying down the path of relying on anecdotal evidence. [In a past edition they demonstated that a GM HEI distrib. actually caused the test engine ( an Olds 455) to make less horsepower than a stock points unit.] In this issue on page 72 MCE demonstrated that an electronic ignition module (Crane) added no performance to an engine relative to the stock points distributor. I hope they will do spark plugs wires soon so we can also illustrate it is myth that the size or make of your wires etc adds to engine horsepower.
