So, I bought a brand new Goodmark trunk lid for my 71 Skylark from RockAuto a few weeks ago. They come from MO which is just one state over from me (fast shipping). They use FedEx for it, and when it arrived the box was trashed and trunk damaged. A quick phone call and they shipped another. Second one showed up yesterday, box intact, but upon opening, was damaged worse than the first one! Don't know if its FedEx or the supplier trashing these but the packaging and bracing in the box is absolutely substandard. Just a little warning for y'all, hoping the third time's the charm!
So RockAuto decided to just refund me today, so I guess I will use the money to fix the first trunk they sent me...bummer, I was hoping to have at least one body part with no filler on it! Oh well!
Andy! I feel your pain! Had to send a whole front end back to ecklers for a 69 Chevelle we are fixing. we sent hood back (3) times. Ecklers does not fit 69 chevelles very well! The Stamps they use are all wore out! Switched to AMD AWESOME! Don't get me Wrong !Work in Autobody! We send stuff back all the time! So don't fell that it is personal! it's part of the AFTERmarket business.
The trunks were Goodmark, look 100% original, but just couldn't get here undamaged! I am almost certain they were damaged before shipping though. Still haven't received my refund yet though.
I believe that! We Got a Audi S4 hood from dealer it was Packaged in (6) boxes! it took me and (2) other guys to un pack laughing! Knowing something was up! Yep! $600.00 hood trashed ! Sent it back and got (2) more hoods Damaged! ended up repairing NEW hood! not fair to the customer! Parts Business like that
I would take a guess, your issue is with Fedex. I ship and recieve from USPS, UPS , GREYHOUND & FEDEX. Only problems with handling have been with Fedex. Claimed they couldn't find address, delivered boxes that looked like balls of abused cardboard. Jim/Rott
