I had to do a repair job to one of my trunk hinges after it had worn enough to cause a "lock" at the full open position. Pulling down on the trunk bent the two little flat arms inside the hinge. I have it all straightened and the trunk lid replaced, but... how does one adjust the the amount of pull-down on those hinges. I have a small gap along the trunk lid by the rear window. So far I have not been able to figure out how to get those hinges to pull down any further. Any help out there????

If the deck lid is attached to the hinges like I think it is (two bolts per side) its not too hard. If the lid is high near the back glass, put a shim between the hinge and lid at the bolt furthest away from the hinge pivot on the same side. This would be at the "tail" of the hinge arm. Don't put a shim at both bolts as this will increase your gap. I learned this trick many years ago from an old GM regional service manager. Let me know how you do.
