GM used a Screw in some cars and a Rivet in other cars to secure the Trunk Lock Retainer. Both are correct! We supply the screw simply because we do not have a supplier for the correct “GM” rivet. I’m uploading the Fisher Body Service Manual Diagram to show that both were used and either should be accepted in any judging events! I've seen BOTH in use on the 1970 - 1972 cars and really can't answer why one was used over the other but as mentioned we've seen both over the years!
