Hi everyone. My original divider in my 69 had 2 large holes in it that look like a previous owner pushed through pre-punched areas. I'm getting ready to install a new one. Were these holes there from the factory or no? It looks like the factory divider and there's no jute with it. Thanks.
Hi , I have to believe that they are not (holes) from the factory . Here's my old one on my 68 , I'm going to replace it in about a week or 2 . I'll put a picture of my new one as soon as I get it .
Yes, All the cars from the factory had the divider unless it was forgotten. It's an insulator noise supressor type of thing. The trunk area is pretty loud when driving and these are Buicks don't you know. And the divider gave some integrity to the jute padding.
My parts arrived yesterday , hope I could find time to bring them home this week ! ray: In additon of the trunk divider , I bought a deluxe package tray for my buckskin interior 68 Skylark Custom , can't wait to see the result :TU: I'll post some pics later on .
Salut James , they look not bad , thiner than the original ones but they fit great and a nice finish Made by REM
Trunk divider + Package tray Hi James , I did both yesterday . If that could help . Here's the direct link if that works http://www.v8buick.com/showpost.php?p=1666913&postcount=29 Or complet post here : http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=161390&page=2
My original looked worse than that. Probably because a previous owner hacked in some rear speaakers and ran the wires through the big holes. I didn't punch out any holes from the repro and it looks a lot better.
