Put a new edelbrock 750 on my engine that I just finished. It has a TA intake, 10:1 , TA 310 cam, competition valve job, headers and 2.5 duals. I had a 600 edelbrock on it and jetted it up and it ran fine. I could tell it wanted more air though. Put the 750 on and jetted it down and it's not running all that great. I tried some other setups and just can't find the right combo? Everyone said to run a 750 and I know alot of you guys are running them and if you know how to jet this carb with this engine I would really appreciate the help. Thanks Frank

    sbbuick My driving scares people!

What do your spark plugs look like?

With your combination, I'd think that factory jetting would be just enough. This is because my Holley 750 DP is jetted fairly rich right out of the box, and I still had to bump up the primaries up by 2 jet sizes.

Make sure your float drop and level is right. I've got one of those 750's on my car, and they are a pain in the butt to tune. I,ve got .101's in my primarys, and .098's in the secondarys. I'm a little lean at that so im going to the .104's and put the .101's in the secondarys. Trial and error on jetting. Try something and if it does not work do something else. Go by your plugs. If they are white to lean. If they are light brown to tan your just right. Good luck. Oh and by the way 7/16's on that float level and about 1" on the drop.

The problem was that it was to lean. I thought that it was going to be rich out of the box so I leaned it out before I put it on. Well I was wrong and I had to richen it up from the factory specs. Also the 1411 electric choke 750 is on the lean side compared to the manual choke one. I have it pretty close right now. I going up one more step tomorrow and I'll let you know. I know one thing this motor likes alot of air and fuel! The TA 310 cam is a really nice cam. Thanks Frank

I'd be enterested in knowing what jets you end up with. I don't have the cam you have. Mine is a Poston 113. It does not have the lift or duration of the 310. probly about 210 intake 220 exhaust with a 425 lift. David

I've tried everything and I'm not happy with any of the setups. I've done every combination and nothing would make it run the way it should. I'm sick of changing everything and not getting anything better out of it. It ran better with the 600 on it. Thanks Frank

I feel your pain Frank. I've done the same with mine. I've jetted mine with every combination in the tuning kit. Even bought a couple of jet combos that did'nt come in the kit. The best combo I had was .101's in sec. & .104's in pri. Did you try any spring changes? Some cam durations require a different stepup spring from the stock spring the comes in the carb. Anyway I believe there issues with the 750 Edelbrock that are going to have to be delt with by Edelbrock themself. We ought to be able to get a 750 to run with out all the stumbling and backfiring.

Here's the deal. I put the 600 edelbrock back on. I jetted it .104 main jet with 070 = 042 metering rod, pink spring .104 in the secondary and moved the pump drive link to the closest hole to the carb. The car runs like a bat out of hell. I couldn't find any combination with the 750 that was even close to the way it's running now with the 600. The 600 was much easier to dial in. I did all the same things with both of the carbs and don't understand why the 750 wouldn't work? Thanks Frank

By the way Frank I think Edelbrock has a 90 day garranty. You may can put it back to factory specs. and get your $ back. Just a thought. At lest the 600 doing a good job.:Brow:
