Here is a Link to a Tri-power Bonneville. If you can wade through all the pictures, the air cleaner looks pretty close. I just wonder if the Tri-power is a little smaller. The air filter for the Tri-power has the same lip as the Buick and looks to be the same low profile.

I'm just trying to find a source of air cleaner for the Buick 2x4.

I thought the 409 chevy dual quad air cleaner looked the same. Ted

    Rick,
I see on the Bottom of your messages that you say that you are looking for a Fan shroud for a 65 Wildcat/Electra. I have done a ton of research and I can't find one either. I am going to try and make one ,If I am successful I will let you know! I know how frustrating it is! :af: So I am sick of Looking and begun to think :Smarty: (yes that was the smoke that you smelled!) I Think I can ....I think I can....I think I can.....

    air filter/ fan shroud

from what i know the 409 and 425's are the same bases which means the air filters are the same. differance is in the lid, 425's have the ribs and 09's are smooth. pontiac tri-power's are not interchangeable. as far as fan shrouds go i believe your going to have to find a car with factory A/C. these are the only cars that came with shrouds. ted, jump in here if i'am giving the wrong information. i'am going by my 65 riviera with a/c and a shroud.

Fan shrouds came on the a/c cars and the a/c modified cars. I may have an extra one, but will not know till I get my parts back from the resto shop. Non-a/c cars only had the top of the fan covered.

Thanks for all the help guys. I think the shroud is going to have to come from a Buick Electra/Wildcat/Lesabre donor only, unless you want to make one. Don please keep me posted if you come up with something from the design side.

Ted if you find you have an extra shroud please keep me in mind. ...and thanks for the heads up on the armrest bases at Ames.

About the air filter, Ted look in your Ames catalog on pg. 111, lower right side, part # PN349X. That's the filter that has me wondering about the crossover from the Tri-power to the Buick 2x4. Here is a link to their online catalog. Jump to page 111. Looks like it has the lip and is low profile. Is it big enough? Greg says yes and 65GS says no. I guess I'll check my auto parts around here or may go for broke and order one.

Ted, Thanks for the info! :Dou: I was going crazy trying to find out if they had a shroud at all. In all of my research I could not see that they did except for the A/C cars!!!! I know I am crazy but this just makes a little less .......

I got a chuckle out of the Luber Finer too. It does kinda sound like the old Henway joke of "What's a Henway?" fame.
