hi, my name is pete. i,m in the process of collecting all the riggin to swap out my th400 in favor of a tremec 600 in my 1969 sport wagon. i have the tranny and all the mcleod stuff including bell housing (kit 8655) . i think this week i'll give dave kleiner a call for the pedals, z-bar etc. i was wondering if anyone would have instructions for the entire swap. i know keisler and several others have them but i bought all my stuff from my local shop so i doubt they would send them to me. also, being in canada the whole cross border thing bothered me with duty, taxes, warranty, shipping etc. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

i guess i'm looking for some chronological order to do things in along with any do's and don'ts. I've thought the process over in my head and it seems fairly straight forward but i'm the type of guy thats been known to throw the odd wrench if i go 2 steps forward and 4 back. where exactly to cut the tunnel, how far to move the cross member back, questions on pinion/driveshaft angle, do you have to do anything to the steering column besides pulling off the shifter. there are a lot of times when i'll just dive into a project but this ones got me a bit nervous for some reason. probably because the car is near perfect the way it is but i just want a stick. i guess any info will help george and sounds like you'd know. how similar is the 67 to the 68/72 model. thanks for any info. pete

The flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and bellhousing go on normal as usual,u may have to cut you tunnel to fit the tremec i dont see it being any different than a 67,here are some links and pics

check out the write ups on these 69 chevelles its the same as a buick GS,im not sure on the 68-9`s for the crossmember but what tranny was origianally in your car?

    Thanks

hi george, tranny was a th4oo with a 400cu. i should probably dig into this project and ask you questions as i go. it's winter here and i'm sort of in the furnace business so who knows when i'll get to it for more than an hour here and there. obviously you've done this project so i'll definately keep in touch. thanks pete

Even better if u had a 400 trans in there you may not have to move your crossmember, keep in touch and when u do it let me know.

    Thanks
