Transmission: which one?

I have a '76 Skylark, that will soon be recieving a joyous blast of power from a '78 LeSabre 350. I am guessing that it will be coming with an automatic. This will not do, as I am a staunch supporter of that mexican marvel: Manuel. my question is to you guys, what transmission would be the best: I have been playing with the idea of getting a t-56, but those are extremely expensive. So anything like a t-56 (for those who dont know, its a 6 speed.) or a 4-spd with overdrive or a 5-spd. Any suggestions?

The tremec TKO600 is a 5-speed and will be less expensive than the t56. Also, the Munice 5-speed project is underway again.

If you just have a mild 350, I would think a T5 would hold up, and would probably be the least expensive.

You can get a new Richmond 6 speed for about $3k. Good tranny for a cheap price! Check them out. They have there own site & Summit carries them.
