I am putting a 425 nailhead in my 56 Buick and I have the st-400 transmission also I want to bring the shifted through the floor . I called lokar and ask them and they said that the tail end of the tranny should be the same as the th-400 . Does anyone know if this is true . Or if I should go with a different tranny .

Super Turbine 400 is just a Buick trade name for the TH 400.

'Course, there's a zillion variations of the TH 400.

A '65-'66 ST400 with the Nailhead bellhousing you need will share the same PRND21 three speed shift pattern as the later TH400's.

Avoid the '64 ST400 as it does not share this same pattern and does not feature the variable pitch torque converter either.

Any shifter for the TH400 should work. I'm running a Hurst Pro Matic 2 with my ST400.
