Hope this is the right place for this question.
I and my son are restoring a '70 GS '455' hardtop. IT is not a stage 1 vehicle. It is the original and correct engine to the vehicle. That is, the vin#'s match. But the trans is not the correct one. It is from a Pontiac. GranPrix , I think.
I understood that the plate on the trans should be a "BB" code. Is ths correct? If not, what is the correct code for this application?
    Thanks,Loren

    Loren,
Since you already have a shortshaft TH400.....why bother getting another trans? Regardless what trans you install....since you don't have the original trans....installing a BA will not make a difference.

It's been awhile since I put the drive train back in . The trans is now leaking like a sieve. Thougt I would at least use the correct Buick transmission, since it needs to come out again.
Originally I got the car to save it from just sitting in a back yard, fix it and turn it around.
My son expressed his interest in it . So I gave it to him. Crazy! :Dou: Now it is time to get it done.

So, that's my story and i'm stickin to it.
