Just out of curiousity, what would happen to a trans. if it sits for a long amount of time? Anything? I know if a motor sits for a while it will lock/or freeze up, but I never heard what would happen to a tranny if it sat for a long amount of time(in example:2 years). And if it makes any difference, a TH-350 in my case? Just popped up in my mind and thought I would ask. Thanks! :Comp:

  2. I've never heard anyone talk about bringing a tranny out of hibernation, so I think it is a non-issue. Others?

The ST300 currently residing in my 64 basically sat for about 2+ years, before I finally got around to removing it from my parts car this summer. It presently has absolutely zero issues, no leaks, fluid is correct color, and it shifts perfectly, even the switch pitch solenoid works perfect. :beer

So in answer to your question, I woudn't get too excited about it, other than starting the engine periodically and running the trans through the gears.
