Had this crazy idea I want to try. I just dont like the button on my steering wheel stupid cord gets wrapped up around the column when turning and hanging in my way ect, and the one on the shifter is for the Line Lock. I always cut better lights when I was foot braking than I did with the trans brake / 2 step button on the wheel. I decided to use the existing clutch peddle hanging in the Regal for my button and do it as if I was foot braking. Was in the process of fabbing up a mount for the button off the wheel when I saw a switch up under the dash hooked to the peddle. Its a neutral safety switch N/O. Sweet! tested it and fo sure when the clutch peddle is pushed in 1/3 of the way it closes and will lock up the trans -2 step. let go and take off. Now for the next test n tune session. Sucks that I missed nearly the entire season due to my foot. Waddda ya'll think?
i tried than on mine and there was a big delay, like 60' plus...dont know if it was the factory switch or what. Its def a good idea and would have loved if it worked for me
Put the line lock elsewhere. The transbrake button has to go on the shifter or you will get tree'd every tine.
Hi Briz. I had the very same issue, hated how my transbrake button got all wrapped up around my steering column and wheel, it was really troublesome. I moved my transbrake switch on my Monte Carlo to the dash where the rear defroster switch used to be. I have a rectangular piece of sheetmetal that the switch attaches to. It works great for me. My linelock is on the Hurst-supplied switch which is attached to my shifter. Hopefully you can see both in this picture:
Maybe I can switch the trans brake and the line lock. Just afraid with all the G force when she launches and my hand being on the shifter I will pull second to early.
Years ago i had my trans brake connected to my line lock button with a toggel wired in between.Push switch one way and the line lock only .Push switch other way and both line lock and trans brake were on.I don,t remember if the switch was a 3 way.Phil
