    Howdy,

Who's adapter kits for Nailheads requires the modification of the crank and who's does not? I'd like to run a TH200-4R behind the nailhead for powertour this year but do not want to permanantly alter the crank.

    Thanks,

I am right in the middle of putting a 200 4r on my nailhead, I bought the kit from nw speed equipment,
The adapter kit that I got, as far as I can tell you right now, needs no modifications to anything on the crank, however, the actual adapter plate has no dowel or locating pins to center and true the transmission to anything, so that there is no way of telling if the input shaft is true to the crank!
I have a machineist friend who has looked at it, and says its not a big deal to get everything figured out, and that he'll line everything up, and then install locating pins so that everything should be running true!! Hope this helps!

I just noticed a kit on Ebay but didn't copy the link. It doesn't require crank mods. Search for it and I'm sure you'll find it.

I would like to hear some feedback from anyone using either one of the trans adapter kits. (NWspeed or Bendtsen) I am in the market for one to bolt between my 425 and 700r4 and was wondering if anyone had any horror stories about either of these. THANKS....

Bendsten is the best one out there. A little pricey, but no mods & tech is very helpful. Everything is included, all bolts, dowl pins, etc.

I've got very good things to say about bensteds. I've got his kit in my 61 Electra 225 convert. Went together very well. It is pricey but like Tom said, its complete, nothing else needed. And the guy is a kick to talk to, i always see him at the shows in MN. He makes some pretty cool stuff. He put a Caddy Northstar in a Fiero :eek2: A little more money, but I vote bensteds. And i've had shipping problems with NW Speed. Just my 2 cents.....

  8. Custom65, what would your machinist friend charge to install locating pins on a NW plate? Thanks, Sergio

I was to take the adapter plate over to my friends on Friday, we where both to busy, not sure he'll charge me anything. Do you have one of the NW adapters that need dowel/alignment pins???
