What is up with this? Was working on the weights changing shift points on Saturday---tranny stopped upshifting completely. :af: Started work on it today and was poking under dash near downshift switch(TH 400 gas pedal gizmo) bought a NEW governor to start over---drove away car shifted NICELY but now my tach wasn't working nor my directionals. o No: I had a blown fuse-- replaced the fuse tranny WONT shift :af: --- unhook the fuse tranny shifts WTF? o No: Pete
Sounds like something might be going on with the detent (kickdown) switch. If the detent solenoid is energized full time, the transmission always thinks you're at WOT and won't upshift until redline. Maybe a quick check with a test light can confirm whether or not the wire's constantly hot. This might explain why everything's fine when the circuit is dead (pulled fuse). Devon
Got it finally-my detent switch wiring was touching near the fuse.Once I got things PROPERLY insulated- -problem solved.Went back to work on the shift/ weights/springs on the gov---got that pretty good  ---leave OE springs in place with #3 and#4 weights gave me 5000rpm shift points(TH400).Enough for awhile :3gears: Pete
