Hello all, I have not been on in a long time. I have a 72 GS Convert with serious tranny issue. I finally have the money to fix it, and have just relocated from NJ to GA. I am looking for recommendations on Transmission shops that can handle my car in the Atlanta area (I live in Cobb County). Just some info, I have an auto and it wont get out of first, max speed of 30mph at 5000+ RPM's. Needless to say I don't drive it anywhere. It is a 700R4 Tranny mounted to the original 350 engine and Rochester 4 barrel. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. If I have to go out and find one on my own, can you guys recommend any questions that I should ask to the shop? Also, what is the ballpark for a rebuilt tranny vs. a new tranny and installation? I realize that I do not have a diagnosis, just curious what others have paid. Thanks!!
