So I'm lookin at trans coolers, and I'm seein all different sorts of materials and sizes and what-not.

I see steel, aluminum, and aluminum with copper. I know when it comes to radiators, aluminum is great as long as you use distilled water so it doesnt corrode, but how does it react to tranny fluid?

Steel I know rusts eventually, and Im thinking it's the worst way to go, but looking at summit and jegs and what not, steel units are more expensive, so is there something to steel I don't know?

I've read mixed things about the copper/brass types, saying that they *can* be more effective than aluminum depending on the design.

As for the sizes, Im assuming that the smaller 7 inch ones would suffice, since the larger ones are for towing vehicles or motor homes. Would the smaller ones be sufficient at keeping my tranny cool for say a 13 hour drive of mixed traffic (dallas can be a PITA, even on I-20) and highway speeds?

Any suggestions for a decently priced one that someone here has used and likes that isn't a pain to install?
