hi, my name is pete and this is my first posting so I hope i'm doing it right. i recently bought a beautiful 69 sportwagon with 22,000 original miles with absolutly no rust that i can find. flawless but some fading inside. has 455 with some radical cam that almost caused me to hit my shop for lack of brakes. anyway I've been wanting to put a tremec tko 600 in it since i bought it but want it to look factory like the still functional 8 track. so to force my self to do it i bought the transmission which i now have but nothing else. I've researched keisler and other companies but if i by their kit it'll end up being about 7500. canadian I fighure i can do it for about 4000. if all goes well. if anyone has done a swap like this i will probably need all the help i can get. i've got mcleod making an externally balanced flywheel and will probably go all mcleod. well being my first time i'll sign off and see where this leads. thanks to all. pete

fellow canadian eh? starting with no rust is a huge money saver. bought the car site unseen from a fire fighter in moncton. You're right, after my post i read through some of them. i don't think it will be to much of a problem. Just take it one step at a time. got all winter.Trying to figure out how to post a picture of my car on this site when your computer iliterate could be a real challenge though. thanks for the reply darren

I'm not to sure on the bell crank. old car network has an sp 062 kit which is pedals, linkages and other small pieces to go from auto to manual. kit is from a chevelle but the guy wasn't positive if the bell crank would fit. first he told me no but then when i told him a sportwagon was like a skylark he wasn't sure. They are both gm a bodies so i'm assuming they are. :Do No: Does anyone know for sure. does anyone know if someone is selling all the rigging to go from auto to manual (perhaps a racer that swithed to auto). Haven't found much on e-bay. The kit from old car net sells for about 279. and seems complete. thanks, pete

Do a search here on the board for ( Dave Kleiner ) he reproduces the correct 4 speed parts for the big block cars. The pedals from a chevelle do not work. They are shaped and angled differently.

i'm getting a little confused on what parts do and don't fit. i've been told the z bar is different and also the pedal assembly. i"ve also been told all abody parts from 68-72 are interchangable as far as pedals and linkage are cioncerned. i've held off buying because i want to get it right the first time.i'll probably buy them friom dave kleiner anyway so i know i'll end up with the right ones unless i find an a body parts car. i here dave is a tough guy to get a hold of. thanks pete
