Any chance it would be the same as a 70 -72 skylark. I had a reese type hitch made up for my 71 gs. I believe it is rated up approx 5000 #. If so I may be willing to sell it.

I would also like to see pictures of your wagon. the last time I have seen one of these was many years ago and it was a 75.
About the trailer hitch, last year I had one (3500 lbs) made from Montreal Hitch for my 75 Electra and wasn't too expensive (around 250 can$). I was however dissapointed to find that they welded it to the rear bumper even if I asked them not to do it.

They make custome hitches - made the class IV hitch for my SportWagon :TU: Quality stuff

They didn't list the sportwagon, nor your car (which is a Electra Wagon, No ??? Not a LeSabre...??). Its a Family business and "Dad" was a master at hitch design. Every time he created/fabbed a new one-off hitch he recorded the dimensions and detailed it so it could be created again. They went back to his blueprints for my '68 Sporty and even shoed a difference for the '69 - to accomodate the '69's dual action tailgate

    If I remember....it cost all of ~$250

    Alan,
In the 70-76 period, the fullsize Buick wagons were not referred as Le Sabres or Electras but were simply called Estate Wagons. Some early 70's models had four portholes like the Electra but were trimmed like Le Sabres. The 75-76 had 3 portholes, just like Le Sabres and were also trimmed like Le Sabres. They were available in both (base) Le Sabre and Le Sabre Custom trim but there were no "Custom" badges like the Le Sabre had and the Custom trim was an option rather than a model on the Estate Wagon.

:beer this is my big baby, all 5500 lbs. I measure it in neons. its weighs 2 1/2 neons; its as big 2 1/2 neons; and a lot more power full that 2 1/2 neons. I thought about using a neon as a spare but couldnt get in the car to drive it in the trunk.

Pictures of trailer hitch - how much load?

If you still need any information on a trailer hitch: I do have a 1972 Estate Wagon and there is one mounted. I could make some pictures of it so you can build one up yourself.

What I need is a description or a Certificate that says how much load is allowed on the rear axle of the Estate Wagon - any idea wher to get something like this?

    Thank you,
    Hann

Go with what Alan said above. I didn't order it but here was the response I got from Hitch-Web.com in response to a request I made about a hitch for my 70 Estate Wagon (over a year ago sopricing might not be exactly the same):

We do offer a 1-1/4x1-1/4 class 2 weld on receiver. Rating is 3500 lbs gross/ 300 tongue.

Price including freight and a ballmount is $225.00
Call us at 800-300-4067 to order, the hitch is good in stock.

We can make you a class 3 5000 lb 2x2 receiver, and send it to you. Price would also be $225, but not include a ballmount.

The hitch is welded together, and form fits the chassis. You would have it welded to the chassis. Automotive welders are common at body shops, muffler shops, and some hitch shops.

    Hope we can help.

I am getting ready to order that hitch mentioned above in this thread. I thought I would take a chance and see if anyone has a Class 2 or preferrably a class 3 hitch on a Estate Wagon parts car that wants to sell the hitch???? Calvin - anything on the one you just parted out??
