uwasbuick NO, IT'S NOT A CHEVELLE!

Question is.. Do those "no hop bars" that TA sells really work? Or is it better to just do the adjustable rear upper arms to dial in?

Yes they work. They change the instant center so that the rear is pushed down away from the body on launch. The ones that TA sells are exceptional quality pieces. The fit is great. I have the TA No Hops and the HR Parts n Stuff rear sway bar. You'll need sticky tires anyway. Adjustable upper arms are a good idea to dial the pinion angle in.

That's what TA says about them, but sometimes you just need to hear it from the guys using 'em!:TU: Thanks Larry!!:beers2:

Not sure since I installed them both at the same time. My best 60' is a 1.70, which I consider good for a 4100 lb. car, a single plane intake, and a heavy switch pitch converter. I can tell you this, there are huge handling benefits because the rear bar works so much better than the stock rear bar configuration. The steering response is night and day better. Being my car is mostly street, that is very important to me. On the track,I've seen the HR bar straighten the launch of 10 second cars. It is supposed to eliminate the need for an air bag in the right spring.

Are there any difference between the TA bars and the Edelbrock one's. Thanks Bill.

Quality and fit are WAY better with the TA bars. I don't know what the price difference is, but I can tell you that whatever it is, it's not worth going for the cheaper price. I spent an entire day trying to get the Edelbrock bars onto my 8.2 10 bolt. I ended up returning them to Sumitt after I had ground on them. The TA bars went on in an hour, and then I transferred them to my 8.5 just as quickly. They are noticeably better quality also.

The Edelbrocks are almost 4" tall, and better used on a 14 second car with less than optimum tires.
The TA no-hops will raise the rear arms less than 3" and be in the ballpark of what a 12 second car needs.
The 10.5 second and faster cars usually have racing differentials with the ears raised 1 to 1 1/2" in all applications. Those guys often think they do not have no-hops, but in fact, they DO! Look close at the pictures in the magazine adds, and see those tall ears on them pumpkins.

Note: Some guys see no improvement with no-hops, due to lack of front end lift, or other incompatable suspension quirks (shocks, springs, stiff bushings, etc). Traction combo's are sometimes elusive as all hell.
